IDT, Surat “Fashionova-2012”-Annual fashion show

 

A fashion Show (a collection of completing 1 yr and 2 yr Diploma batch of IDT-IIFT students of Fashion Designing) – “Fashionova2012” was held on 9 June, 2012 at The Gateway hotel. The show “Fashionova 2012” proved to be a launchpad for the upcoming promising talents in the field of Fashion Industry.

 

The students had designed their collections under the guidance of Faculties in 3 months duration for summer on various themes and for varying occasions. Over 90 students presented a total of 100 collection ranging from casuals to formals with a true experimentation of hues, textures, silhouettes and details in front of eminent  personalities from Industry, Jury Members,  Renowned designers and others.

 

Our annual runway fashion show themes comprised of vertigo, virtual wonder, khadi khaas, flavors’ of India, 24-carat Glamour, Elves & demons, Essence of Nature& color block, Dark Samurai and others. Idtians have made an effort to design clothes; to give designing an image beyond the world of fantasy. And all the themes were justifiably explored to the core by our young designers in the most innovative and mind boggling ways and are within the range of feasibility.     

 

IDT “Fashionova2012”had Mr. Rakesh Asthana (Police Commissioner, Surat) as a chief guest and Mr.Subash Dhawan ( Fstudio Owner) & Mr. Pappu Bhai ( Suchitra Group) as a Guest of honor  and other Dignatarie’s witnessed our spectacular event and  graced the occasion with their presence.                                                                                                             

 

The evening turned out to be glamour pack affair with an eclectic mix of, Models and fashion designers from the industry. Leading and professional models like Anchal Kumar (Big Boss Season4), Sujata Das, Mausmi Bhadra who have participated in lakme fashion week and Femina miss India walked down the ramp in colorful and fascinating costumes designed by budding designers of the institute.

 

At the end of runway event Mrs. Rebecca Fillips and Mrs. Nita Thakore Eminent jury from fashion field were honored to choose the best talent and crown them with best awards.

 

The main highlights of the event were the Bubblegum & Candy and Khaadi Khas to beat the summer heat innovatively. Wherein Bubblegum and candy as the name suggests, students presented for the 1sttime, combination of bubblegum & candy, where bright & soft colors were given utmost importance in the theme.

 

The fascinating collection of short & sexy dresses is designed with sequined, velvet, tissue, satin, net, Lycra. What better way to beat the heat then with cute, bubbly sweet dresses, the collection was enhanced with candy wrappers, gems, etc. to give it a bubbly look. And if we talk about Khaadi khaas that left the audience spellbound by its innovative  collection of khadi paired with block printing and painting .Designers  introduced long jackets, trousers, fitted tubes, jhodhpuri pants, tunics, shrugs, skirt, palazzos, etc  in unique way where Fashion was seen with cultural values of India.

 We IIdtians thank all the people and specially choreographer “Keyur Desai” for making our “Fashionova 2012” event a big success and creating history in Surat.
